A free classroom response system students answer with a scan.
A clicker-free polling and voting app that runs in any browser. Put a question on the board, students scan the QR with their phone camera, and answers land live. No iClicker, no Top Hat, no app, no student accounts. Works as your exit ticket too. Cyrillic and Thai text wrap on phones under 360px.
Q01Is this a free classroom response system?
Yes. QR Poll works as a free classroom response system, a clicker-free alternative to iClicker or Top Hat. The free plan covers 250 responses a month with live results and CSV export, and students need no accounts and no app.
Q02Do students need accounts?
No. Scan the QR with the camera, answer, done. No app, no sign-up, no password. That removes the biggest barrier to participation.
Q03How do I stop one student voting many times?
You can’t fully. Votes always count. A flag stored in each student’s browser quietly skips the form if that browser already answered, but it doesn’t block anyone: clearing browser data or switching devices lets them answer again. For graded work, use your LMS.
Q04Can I use this for graded quizzes?
No. QR Poll is built for formative assessment. Use your LMS for anything that affects a grade.
Q05Is it free for teachers?
Free plan covers most classrooms. 250 responses a month, live results, CSV export.
Q06What if a student doesn’t have a phone?
Pair them up, or show the short URL on the board for laptops and tablets. You don’t need 100% participation to learn something.
Q07Can I see who responded what?
Default is anonymous. You can add an optional name field for attendance checks, but most polls work better without it.
